Monday 5th January 2009 – FA Cup Third Round Football Match – Blyth Spartans vs Blackburn Rovers
Kick-off: 8.00pm
This is a dream FA Cup fixture for, non league side, Blyth Spartans but the same could be said for the struggling Blackburn Rovers. In a true “David vs Goliath” FA Cup football match the Premier League meets a non professional outfit on unfamiliar turf.

Kick-off: 4.30pm ET
An early exit awaits this evening for either the Minnesota Vikings or the Philadelphia Eagles as the two sides clash in the 2009 Wild Card Playoffs.
Despite the Vikings having the home advantage in this first round of Wild Card Playoffs, it is the Philadelphia Eagles that have been given favoritism by the bookmakers. They will start with odds of 5/8 on the money line with the Minnesota Vikings at 7/5 to win this Wild Card Playoff football game.

Sunday, January 4th 2009 – NFL Wild Card Playoffs Football Game – Baltimore Ravens at Miami Dolphins
Kick-off: 1.00pm ET
An early exit awaits this afternoon for either the Miami Dolphins or the Baltimore Ravens as the two sides clash in the 2009 Wild Card Playoffs. Without meaning to offend the fans of the Baltimore Ravens, I have a $3 outside bet on the Miami Dolphins to win the Super Bowl at 25/1. A good bet if you believe in fairytale endings, and that’s exactly what it would be for the Dolphins rookie coach.

Saturday, January 3rd 2009 – FA Cup Third Round Football Match – Preston vs Liverpool
Kick-off: 5.25pm
In the featured game of the day, Preston host Liverpool in the third round of the FA Cup. This competition is famous for ‘David vs Golaith’ battles, like last year when lowly Barnsley dumped them out. Today however, should be a different story despite Liverpool playing away - lessons have been learned (Liverpool fans will hope so anyway).
Even with the home advantage, Preston are huge 13/2 underdogs - with Liverpool as the 4/9 favourites to win this FA Cup third round football match.
